Cool Shade of Blue is a nine piece big band led by trumpet master Richard Marsters. Trombonist-Arranger Willie Johnson is music director.
The band's repetoire includes swing classics, jazz standards, and a taste of the blues.

Their first CD - Swing Dance at the Church - is available by contacting Richard. Tunes on this CD include: a bossa nova version of Here's That Rainy Day, blues classic Oo Papa Do, a wild arrangement of Royal Garden Blues, and the original Summer Sigh.
Their second CD - For Duke - is nearing completion and should be available in early 2006.
Currently, Richard Marsters and Willie Johnson perform as the Marsters & Johnson Quintet at Zackery's at the Holiday Inn West (Portland,ME) every Wednesday 7-10 p.m.
